About VoltKit

VoltKit is a toolbox for the small, recurring jobs of internet life: shrinking a photo before uploading it, merging two PDFs, tidying up a JSON response, counting words in an essay, checking a website's SSL certificate, or working out what a loan will really cost. It has 85 free tools across 11 categories, quick games and guides, and it grows based on what people actually ask for.

For people who build apps, VoltKit also runs two paid services: SVGA Maker and VoltKit RTC.

The free tools and games

Most tools run entirely in your browser. When you drop an image into the compressor, your browser decodes it, re-encodes it with the Canvas API and hands you the result. When you merge PDFs, a JavaScript PDF library assembles the document on your device. Those files are not uploaded, and closing the tab removes them.

A few internet, security and website checkers, such as the WHOIS lookup, the SSL checker and the speed test, run on our server. What you type is sent to our server to run the check, and each of these tools says so on its page. The privacy policy explains what is sent where, and what is logged.

Games keep your best scores in your browser. None of the tools or games needs an account.

For builders: SVGA Maker and VoltKit RTC

  • SVGA Maker turns a short video clip into an SVGA animation. The clip is uploaded to our conversion server and deleted about 48 hours later; the finished file stays in your account so you can download it again.
  • VoltKit RTC adds live video, voice, chat and broadcast to your own apps, through an API and SDKs.

Both need a free account. SVGA Maker is free with daily and monthly limits; RTC uses a prepaid VoltKit Wallet, recharged in INR. There are no subscriptions. Every account gets free SVGA conversions, and one RTC project per account starts with 2,500 free participant-minutes. Prices are on the pricing page.

What we don't do

  • No advertisements or sponsored links.
  • No account, sign-up or paid tier for the tools and games, and no watermarks on what the tools make.
  • No fake progress bars, fake reviews or fake usage statistics.
  • No selling of personal data, and no marketing email.
  • Analytics counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics and Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies to recognise returning browsers, so it is not anonymous. Neither receives the files or text you use in the tools. The privacy policy has the details.
