Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and VoltKit (“we”, “us”) for using VoltKit: this website, its free tools and games, your account, the paid services SVGA Maker and VoltKit RTC, and the VoltKit RTC live demo. If you accept them for an organisation, you confirm that you may bind it, and “you” then means the organisation too.

These documents are part of these terms: the Acceptable Use Policy, the Privacy Policy, the Content & Grievance Policy, the Data Processing Terms (for VoltKit RTC customers), the pricing page, the cancellation and refund policy and the shipping and delivery policy.

The short version

  • We provide technology. We do not create, choose, watch or control what you or anyone else uploads, streams, says or sends with it.
  • If you build an app on VoltKit RTC, you run that app: its users, their content and your legal duties to them are your responsibility, not ours.
  • Follow the Acceptable Use Policy. We act on valid complaints and legal orders, and may suspend accounts and projects that break the rules.
  • The service is provided as it is, without an uptime promise. Our liability is limited, and you cover us for claims caused by your content, your apps or your users.

1. What VoltKit is

  • Free, with no account: tools for images, PDFs, JSON, text, calculations and internet checks, games, guides and news. Most tools run in your browser; a few checkers use our server and say so on their page.
  • With a free account: SVGA Maker, which turns short video clips into SVGA animations, and VoltKit RTC, an API and SDKs that developers use to add live video, voice, chat and broadcast to their own apps. Both are paid services after a free allowance.
  • The live demo at /rtc/demo, where anyone can try VoltKit RTC for 10 minutes without an account (section 11).

We may change, add or remove features and tools. Section 14 says what happens to what you have paid for if a paid service closes.

2. Our role: we provide the technology

  • VoltKit is a provider of tools and communications infrastructure. For content that our users and our customers' users upload, stream or send, we are an intermediary under the Information Technology Act, 2000: we carry and briefly store it, but we do not start those transmissions, choose who receives them, or select or change what they contain.
  • We do not monitor content and have no duty to. We do not endorse, verify or take responsibility for any content, conduct, app, product, service, offer or claim of any account holder, customer, customer's user or demo participant, or for anything that happens between them.
  • The person or business that sends, streams or publishes content is solely responsible for it and for its consequences. You use content from others, and deal with others, at your own risk.
  • We act on breaches when we learn of them, as the Content & Grievance Policy describes. Acting on some content does not make us responsible for any other content.

3. Accepting these terms

You accept these terms by ticking the box that says so: when you create an account, when we ask you to accept an updated version, before you pay, before you create a VoltKit RTC project, and before you go live or join a room in the live demo. Using VoltKit also means you accept them. When you tick a box we record the version you accepted, the date and time, and the IP address and browser it came from (for the demo, a coded form of the IP address), as evidence of your agreement. If you do not agree, do not use VoltKit.

4. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account, buy credits or minutes, or use the live demo.
  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date. You can edit your profile in your dashboard; to change your email address or username, email us.
  • An account is for one person. An organisation's account must be opened by someone allowed to act for it, and the organisation is responsible for how it is used. Do not share, sell or transfer an account, and do not open extra accounts to get more free conversions or free RTC minutes.
  • Keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything done under your account; tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
  • If you sign in with Google, Google's terms also apply to that sign-in. If an account with the same email address already exists, Google sign-in opens that account.

5. Free tools, games and content

The tools, games, guides and news are free and provided “as is”, and we may change, add or remove them at any time. Browser tools process your files and text on your device, and we do not receive them. You keep all rights to them, and you are responsible for making sure you are allowed to use and modify the files you process.

Calculators are not professional advice

The EMI, GST, salary and percentage calculators are for estimation and education. They use the formulas and assumptions stated on each page, which may not match your bank, employer or tax situation. Always confirm important figures with a qualified professional or the relevant official source before acting on them.

6. Credits and payments

  • Credits are a prepaid balance in your VoltKit account, bought in packs with a one-time payment in Indian rupees through Razorpay. VoltKit RTC minute packages are bought in rupees, for your account balance or for one project. Nothing is charged again automatically, unless you turn on an optional service that says so before you turn it on (section 10).
  • Current packs and prices are on the pricing page and in your dashboard. You pay the price shown at checkout, including any GST shown. Prices can change, but a change never affects what you have already bought.
  • Razorpay processes payments, and its terms apply to them. We never receive your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN or net-banking password.
  • Credits and minutes are added once the payment is confirmed, as the shipping and delivery policy describes.
  • Credits can be spent only on VoltKit's paid services. They have no cash value, cannot be moved to another account, and cannot be withdrawn or exchanged for money except as the refund policy or these terms (section 14 and section 16) allow. They do not expire while your account is open.
  • RTC minutes stay where you add them. Minutes for your account balance can be used by every project that draws on it; minutes for a project can be used only by that project. They do not expire, cannot be turned back into credits, and cannot be moved between the account balance and a project or from one project to another. A project's own minutes are lost if you delete the project; your account balance is not.
  • Cancellations and refunds follow the cancellation and refund policy. If something goes wrong with a payment, please contact us before disputing it with your bank.
  • If credits or minutes reach your account by mistake, for example twice for one payment, we may correct your balance. The correction appears in your history.

7. SVGA Maker

  • Upload only clips that you own or have permission to use, including permission from the people who appear in them where the law requires it. You keep your rights to your clips and to the files made from them.
  • Conversions are free with login and daily and monthly limits. Files can be up to 20 MB by default. The SVGA Maker tool shows your current limits and remaining allowance.
  • We delete the uploaded clip about 48 hours after it was last used. The finished file stays in your SVGA Maker history; keep your own copy of anything you need.
  • Results depend on the clip and the settings you choose. Check a file before you use it.

8. VoltKit RTC

  • Projects and keys. You use VoltKit RTC through projects, each with its own App ID and API keys. We may require a verified account before you create a project or buy minutes; whether to verify an account is our decision.
  • Billing. Use is measured in participant time: one person connected for one minute is one participant-minute, counted by the second. Rooms and broadcasts draw on the project's own minutes first, then on your account balance if the project uses it; chat does not. You can stop any project using the account balance, and projects on an unlimited plan never use it. Each account gets one lifetime trial on its first project, as the dashboard shows. See usage and billing.
  • Video quality. 1080p, 720p and 480p are included on every RTC plan, with up to 60 fps. Actual quality depends on the capture device, connection and any explicit operator restriction. The testing trial does not provide a separate quality entitlement.
  • Running out. When a project runs out of minutes or reaches a usage limit, its live sessions are warned and then ended after about a minute, unless you add minutes in that time. A suspended project's live sessions are ended the same way.
  • Limits. We set limits, such as the number of projects per account, concurrent rooms, viewers per room and API calls per minute, to protect the service. Do not try to get around them; ask us if you need more.
  • Your API secrets. Keep secrets on your server. Never put them in an app, a web page or a public code repository; your apps should only receive the short-lived tokens your server creates. You are responsible for everything done with your keys, so revoke any key you think is exposed.
  • Webhooks. Send webhooks only to addresses you control, and keep the signing secret safe.
  • SDKs. Our SDKs are open source under the MIT licence, which comes with each SDK and governs the SDK code. These terms govern the service.
  • Deleting a project immediately closes its rooms and streams and deletes its keys and its own remaining minutes. It does not change your account balance.

9. Your app, your users, your responsibility

If you build an app, website or service on VoltKit RTC (“your app”):

  • You are its operator. Your app's users are your users: they have no agreement with us, and we have no duty to them. You are responsible for your app, for everyone who uses it, and for everything they stream, say, send or do through it.
  • You must have your own terms of use and privacy notice for your users, enforce rules at least as strict as our Acceptable Use Policy, give your users a way to report content, and act on reports and on notices we forward to you.
  • You must comply with every law that applies to your app, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its Intermediary Rules if your app is an intermediary, consumer protection law, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For your users' personal data you are the Data Fiduciary and we are your Data Processor, as the Data Processing Terms set out.
  • You must give your users any notice and get any consent the law requires, including verifiable parental consent for anyone under 18 and consent to any recording or broadcast.
  • You deal with your users' complaints, refunds, disputes and legal requests about your app. If a complaint about your app reaches us, we may pass it to you, and we may suspend your project if you do not act on it.

10. Recording and other optional services

  • We may offer optional, paid services, such as recording a host's live sessions and storing the recordings for a period you choose. An optional service is off until you turn it on in your dashboard or console, where its price, how it is charged and how long data is kept are shown before you turn it on. It is available only once we offer it, and may not be available in every plan.
  • Recordings are your content. We store them only for the period you chose and then delete them; download anything you need before then. You can delete a recording sooner yourself.
  • Before recording anyone, you must tell them and get any consent the law requires. You are responsible for what is recorded and for how recordings are used and shared.
  • Charges for an optional service are taken from your balance, or billed as its screen says, until you turn it off. Turning it off stops future charges; it does not refund charges for storage already used.

11. The live demo

  • The live demo is a free product demonstration, for people aged 18 or older. Before going live or joining you must accept the live demo rules.
  • You are solely responsible for what you stream, say and share in a demo room, and for who you invite. We do not record the demo's video, do not watch rooms as they happen, and cannot vouch for anyone in them.
  • Demo rooms last 10 minutes and may end at any time. We may limit, change or withdraw the demo, and block anyone from it, without notice.

12. Acceptable use

You must follow the Acceptable Use Policy whenever you use VoltKit. It lists the content that may not be uploaded, streamed or sent (including everything the Information Technology Rules, 2021 forbid) and the activity that is not allowed, such as breaking the law, harassing people, recording people without consent, spam, fraud, attacking systems or getting around limits and billing.

13. Your content

  • Files and text you use in browser tools are processed on your device; we never receive them.
  • Content you send to us or through us, such as SVGA uploads and their results, support messages, verification details, recordings and what passes through VoltKit RTC, stays yours. You allow us to host, copy, process, transmit and store it only as needed to provide, secure and support VoltKit, for as long as the Privacy Policy says. This permission is non-exclusive and free of charge.
  • You confirm that you have every right and consent needed for your content and for this permission, and that your content does not break the law or anyone's rights.
  • We may remove content, refuse to process it, or disable access to it, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or the law, or if a court or authority requires it.

14. Availability and no warranty

  • VoltKit is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond those written in these terms, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or fit for a particular purpose. There is no uptime guarantee or service level agreement, including for VoltKit RTC, unless we sign one with you.
  • Live audio and video depend on networks and devices outside our control, so quality and delivery are not guaranteed. Maintenance, updates and faults can interrupt calls, broadcasts and conversions. Keep copies of your files and recordings.
  • If we permanently close SVGA Maker or VoltKit RTC, we will announce it at least 30 days before. If you can then no longer use credits or minutes you paid for, we will refund the unused part at the price you paid, even where the refund policy would not otherwise allow a refund.

15. No emergency or high-risk use

VoltKit is not built or tested for situations where a failure could lead to death, injury, or serious harm to property or the environment. Do not use it as an emergency, life-safety or medical communication system, or as the only way for anyone to call for help. VoltKit RTC cannot call emergency services.

16. Suspension and closing accounts

  • You can stop using VoltKit at any time. To close your account, email us from its email address. Closing an account does not by itself refund unused credits; the refund policy applies.
  • We may suspend or close an account, suspend or delete its RTC projects, disable keys, end live sessions or remove content, at once and without notice where needed, if you or your app's users break these terms or the law, if a payment is reversed or disputed after it was used, if we receive a valid complaint or order, to protect other people or the service, or if the law requires it.
  • We will tell you why, unless the law or a security reason prevents it, and you can reply to ask us to reconsider.
  • If we close your account when you have not broken these terms, we refund your unused credits and minutes.

17. Limitation of liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud or wilful misconduct, or your rights under the refund policy and consumer protection law.
  • We are not liable for any content, conduct, app or service of any account holder, customer, customer's user, demo participant or other third party, or for any loss arising from them, including what is streamed, said, sent, recorded or shared through VoltKit.
  • The free tools, games, content and live demo cost nothing. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using them, including lost data or decisions made on calculator results.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue, business, data or goodwill, or for failures caused by things outside our reasonable control, including services we do not run, such as Razorpay, Google, hosting providers, networks, your internet connection or your devices.
  • For everything else, our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or ₹1,000 if that is more.

18. Indemnity

You will defend us and cover our reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, from any claim, complaint, penalty or proceeding by anyone else that arises from: content you, your app or your app's users upload, stream, send or record; your app and how it is used; your breach of these terms or the law; or your breach of anyone's rights. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in the defence. This does not apply to the extent that we caused the claim, and it does not limit your rights under consumer protection law.

19. Other companies' services

Payments are taken by Razorpay, Google sign-in and notifications are run by Google, and our servers are hosted by third parties; their own terms apply to what they do. Links to other websites, for example in news and guides, lead to sites we do not control and are not responsible for.

20. Privacy and data processing

How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. For the personal data of your app's users, the Data Processing Terms apply. Both form part of these terms.

21. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a problem, please contact us first (section 24); most issues can be settled that way. Subject to that, the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes about these terms or VoltKit. Nothing here affects your rights under consumer protection law, including the right to complain to a consumer commission.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects account holders, we will tell them by email or with a notice in their dashboard before it applies to them. Continuing to use your account after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, you can stop using VoltKit and ask us to close your account. A purchase is governed by the terms in force when you made it.

23. General

  • Which document applies first. A signed written agreement with us applies first, then the Data Processing Terms for your users' personal data, then these terms, then the policies they link to.
  • Whole agreement. These terms, the documents they include and any signed written agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about VoltKit.
  • If part is invalid. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • Transfers. You may not transfer your account, your credits, your minutes or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them only to a business that takes over VoltKit and keeps to these terms.
  • After your account closes, the parts of these terms about amounts owed and refunds, our role, your content (for anything we still keep), liability, indemnity and governing law continue to apply.

24. Contact and grievances

Questions about these terms: contact@voltkit.in.

For help, open a support ticket; we reply within 2–3 business days. To report content, see the Content & Grievance Policy. To raise a complaint (a grievance), use the grievance form or email our Grievance Officer; we resolve grievances within 7 days.
