There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself. Chat, tokens, API calls and webhooks are not billed.

Your first project starts with 2,500 free participant-minutes, once per account, at any quality.

Prices are in VoltKit Credits. New recharges: ₹1 = 1.0000 credits (≈ $0.01), so video with HD audio costs ₹99 (≈ $1.04) per 1,000 participant-minutes at today's conversion. Price list version 1.

Prices are in Indian rupees; dollar figures are approximate, at ₹95 per US dollar on 24 October 2026, for orientation only. You are billed in rupees.

Prices are in credits per 1,000 participant-minutes. One participant connected for one minute = one participant-minute.

  • Rates measured per participant-minute.
  • HD audio included with video.
  • Actual media mode determines applicable rate.
  • Enabling services does not itself generate metered charges.
  • Quality depends on supported device, codec, and network.
  • Billing uses authenticated server-side measurements.
  • Wallet offers and conversion are displayed before payment.
  • Taxes, where applicable, are shown separately or clearly included.
  • Premium frame rates depend on availability and compatibility.

Each participant is billed one rate at a time: the highest of what they send and what they receive, recorded every 5 seconds and charged per second.

Calculator

Work out what a session costs

People × minutes × the rate ÷ 1,000. Pick a rate from the live list, or start from a preset: a 1:1 call, a voice room, or a live room with an audience.

Participant-minute calculator

Your session
300 participant-minutes → 29.7 credits → ₹29.70 (≈ $0.31)10 people × 30 minutes = 300 participant-minutes; 300 participant-minutes × 99 ÷ 1,000 = 29.7 creditsBilled per second, so a 7½-minute call costs 7½ minutes.

Worked examples

Three sessions, priced from the same live rates

Each example is people × minutes = participant-minutes, then participant-minutes × the rate ÷ 1,000 = credits, at today's conversion.

A 1:1 Full HD video call of 60 minutes

2 people × 60 minutes = 120 participant-minutes

120 participant-minutes × 99 ÷ 1,000 = 11.88 credits, ₹11.88 (≈ $0.13) at today's rate

Full HD Video + HD Audio: 99 credits per 1,000 participant-minutes. Billed per second, so a 7½-minute call costs 7½ minutes.

An audio room: one host and nine listeners for an hour, at standard voice

10 people × 60 minutes = 600 participant-minutes

600 participant-minutes × 39 ÷ 1,000 = 23.4 credits, ₹23.40 (≈ $0.25) at today's rate

Standard Voice: 39 credits per 1,000 participant-minutes. Billed per second, so a 7½-minute call costs 7½ minutes.

A live room: a host, a co-host and 500 viewers for 30 minutes, at Full HD

502 people × 30 minutes = 15,060 participant-minutes

15,060 participant-minutes × 99 ÷ 1,000 = 1,490.94 credits, ₹1,490.94 (≈ $15.7) at today's rate

Full HD Video + HD Audio: 99 credits per 1,000 participant-minutes. Billed per second, so a 7½-minute call costs 7½ minutes.

How billing works

Billed for the media each participant uses, per second

  • One participant connected for one minute = one participant-minute. Ten people in a room for six minutes use 60 participant-minutes.
  • Usage is recorded in seconds and billed per participant-second, with no rounding up. Billed per second, so a 7½-minute call costs 7½ minutes.
  • Each participant is billed one rate at a time: the highest of what they send and what they receive, recorded every 5 seconds and charged per second.
  • HD audio included in video — no separate audio charge. A participant on video pays the video rate alone, never video plus audio.
  • 60 fps is an upgrade: Charged only while 60 fps is actually delivered. It needs a 60 fps camera or source.
  • Viewers are participants: everyone connected to a room is billed at the rate of the media they receive, so listeners who receive audio only pay a voice rate.
  • Not billed: chat messages, chat-only connections, API calls, tokens, webhooks and in-app music.
  • When the wallet reaches zero, rooms close and nothing more is charged: there is no debt, and if the last few seconds cost more than was left, the rest is not charged to you.

Every rule, with the API that reports usage: Usage and billing.

Pay in rupees

One prepaid wallet, recharged by UPI, card or net banking

  • Recharge from Wallet → Recharge in your dashboard, through Razorpay's checkout: UPI, cards or net banking.
  • By default the recharge page offers presets from ₹100 (≈ $1.05) to ₹10,000 (≈ $105), or a custom amount up to ₹1,00,000 (≈ $1,053); it shows the amounts on offer when you recharge.
  • Before you pay, the quote shows exactly what you pay and the credits you get, with any offer or coupon bonus, and roughly how many participant-minutes they cover at today's rates.
  • Credits arrive once our server has verified the payment, never from the browser alone, and every recharge gets a receipt. Nothing renews by itself.
  • Your free and previously bought minutes stay on your account and are always used first; your wallet credits are used after them. Recharging never removes or shortens them.
  • Tax: no GST is added to recharges at present: a ₹1,000 (≈ $10.5) recharge costs ₹1,000. If GST applies later, the quote and the receipt show it before you pay, and only recharges made after the change are affected.
  • Charges: any service, platform or payment gateway charge is shown on the recharge page, next to the amount, before you pay. A charge buys no credits.
  • Refunds: paid credits you have not used can be refunded within 7 days of the recharge; the bonus that came with it is removed in proportion. See the refund policy.

Your backend mints a short-lived token for each user with your API secret, which never reaches an app: issue tokens from your backend. Tokens and API calls cost nothing.

Use cases

What teams build with it

Pricing in India: questions

Can I pay for a video API in rupees or with UPI?

Yes. VoltKit RTC is paid from one prepaid VoltKit Wallet that you recharge in Indian rupees through Razorpay's checkout, by UPI, card or net banking. There is no subscription and nothing renews by itself; the credits arrive once our server has verified the payment.

Is GST charged on recharges?

No GST is added to recharges at present: a ₹1,000 (≈ $10.5) recharge costs ₹1,000. If GST applies later, the quote and the receipt show it before you pay, and only recharges made after the change are affected.

What is a participant-minute?

One participant connected for one minute = one participant-minute. Ten people in a room for six minutes use 60 participant-minutes. Usage is recorded in seconds and billed per participant-second, so a session is never rounded up to the next minute.

Does video cost more than voice?

Yes. Standard voice is ₹39 (≈ $0.41) and HD voice ₹49 (≈ $0.52) per 1,000 participant-minutes; Full HD video is ₹99 (≈ $1.04), and it already includes HD audio, so a participant on video is never charged for video plus audio. Each participant is billed one rate at a time: the highest of what they send and what they receive, recorded every 5 seconds and charged per second.

Are chat messages, tokens or webhooks billed?

No. Only participants connected to a room are billed, viewers included. Chat messages, chat-only connections, API calls, tokens, webhooks and in-app music are not billed; chat draws on a daily message allowance that grows with your live minutes.

Do unused credits or minutes expire?

Free, trial and previously bought minutes never expire, and they are always used before wallet credits. Bonus credits from an offer or coupon may expire after the number of days the recharge page shows before you pay.

Can I get a refund?

Paid credits you have not used can be refunded within 7 days of the recharge. The bonus that came with that recharge is removed in proportion, and a charge marked non-refundable is kept. The refund policy has the details.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Each account gets a one-time testing trial of 2,500 free participant-minutes on its first project, at any quality. Until your first paid recharge, rooms in that project hold up to 25 people; the unused trial minutes stay with the project and are used first.
