Why emoji and accents need special care
What looks like one character on screen is often several code units underneath. A family emoji is several emoji joined with invisible zero-width joiners, a flag is two regional indicator symbols, and an accented letter may be a base letter followed by a combining mark. Naive reversal splits these apart and produces garbled output. This tool segments text into user-perceived characters (grapheme clusters) using the browser's Intl.Segmenter before reversing, so every visible symbol survives.
What people use it for
Creating mirror text for puzzles and social posts, checking whether a word or phrase is a palindrome, reversing a list of steps, flipping the order of lines in a log file so the newest entry is first, or generating backwards text for design mock-ups.
