Splitting a PDF means taking some of its pages and saving them as a new document. It is the fix for sending one chapter instead of a whole report, sharing a single invoice from a batch, or removing a page that should not be there.
Step 1: Open the PDF in the split tool
Drop the file onto the upload area or click Choose file. The page count appears once it has been read; you will need it to write ranges.

Extract pages lets you type exactly which pages you want:
5– just page 52-6– pages 2 to 68-– page 8 to the end (and-3means 1 to 3)1-3, 5, 8-– three separate parts
Every page separately creates one PDF per page, handy for scanned batches where each page is a separate document.
Step 3: One file or several?
With Combine into one PDF off, each range becomes its own file (report-pages-1-3.pdf, report-page-5.pdf, …). With it on, all selected pages go into a single document in the order you typed. Use the combined mode to remove pages: list everything except the unwanted ones.
Step 4: Extract and download
Click Extract pages. Download files individually or grab them all as a zip. The status line before you click tells you exactly how many files and pages you will get, so mistakes in the ranges are visible early.
Tips
- Page numbers are physical positions, starting at 1, not the numbers printed on the pages.
- To reorder pages, split them into single files and merge them back in the new order with Merge PDF.
- Keep the original. Splitting never modifies it, but a copy is cheap insurance.
Frequently asked questions
How do I delete a page from a PDF?
Extract every page except the one you want to remove, with Combine into one PDF switched on. For a 10-page file where page 4 should go, enter 1-3, 5-10.
Can I split a PDF into equal parts?
Enter the ranges yourself, for example 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, with Combine switched off. Each range becomes its own file.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit. Pages are copied rather than rendered, so even long documents split in seconds.
