What you build
Conferencing, voice rooms and interactive live rooms
The live-streaming viewer line of 100ms is not compared: on VoltKit, everyone in a room is a participant, billed at the rate of what they receive. Interactive live rooms: hosts and seated guests on air, the audience in the same room; not CDN broadcast.
1v1 PK, 1-vs-N PK, 2v2 team PK and family PK are app logic built on rooms, chat and the promote-and-reconnect recipe; VoltKit has no PK module.
- Video conferencingEveryone publishes camera and microphone, with screen sharing, moderation and chat on the same connection.Rooms
- Voice roomsSpeakers on stage and listeners on audio only, with raise-hand, seats your app draws and speaking indicators.Group audio rooms

Migration
Moving a conferencing app
Your backend keeps deciding who joins which room with which role and mints a short-lived token for each person; the app joins with one StreamClient. The pieces map like this:
| In your app today | On VoltKit RTC |
|---|---|
| A room for each call or session | a room: PUT /v1/rooms/{roomId} creates it, or returns the live one |
| Your user ids | identity: your own user id, a string that others see and moderation acts on |
| Roles and permissions | a role your backend signs into the token: host, cohost, moderator or viewer, enforced by the service |
| An auth token from your backend | POST /v1/rooms/{roomId}/tokens returns token and wsUrl; tokens live ten minutes and are refreshed during the session |
| Chat in the session | chat on the same connection (sendMessage, onMessage), plus chat-only connections that are not metered |
Issue tokens from your backend builds the endpoint, with server SDKs for Node.js, Python, Go, PHP and Java; see the quickstart for a first call and Usage and billing for how participant-minutes are counted. More on the product at VoltKit RTC.

What VoltKit RTC does not offer
- Transcription or captions.
- A released native iOS (Swift) SDK: it is in preview. The Flutter SDK builds iOS apps today.
- No PK module, gift system or coin wallet: PK battles, gifts and wallets are app logic built on rooms and chat.
- A published maximum room size. Each project's limits on concurrent rooms and viewers per room are shown on its Settings tab, and support can raise them.
Frequently asked questions
What does 100ms cost after its 10,000 included minutes?
$0.004 per participant-minute, which is $4.00 per 1,000 participant-minutes, after 10,000 conferencing minutes free each month (100ms.live, read 2026-10-24).
Does 100ms publish an audio-only rate?
Its page says “75% off for audio only use-cases” (no absolute figure printed); $1.00 per 1,000 participant-minutes is derived from that discount (100ms.live, read 2026-10-24). VoltKit's voice rates are read live: standard voice ₹39 (≈ $0.41) and HD voice ₹49 (≈ $0.52) per 1,000 participant-minutes.
Does 100ms bill in rupees?
On 2026-10-24 its pricing page showed US-dollar prices (100ms.live, read 2026-10-24). VoltKit bills in rupees: you recharge a prepaid wallet through Razorpay with UPI, cards or net banking, and nothing renews.
What allowance does VoltKit give new accounts?
A one-time testing trial: 2,500 participant-minutes on your first project, at any quality; up to 25 people per room until the first paid recharge. The number is read live and changes for campaigns.
Is HD priced differently at 100ms?
From the 100ms pricing page (100ms.live, read 2026-10-24): One rate for any video. The pricing calculator separates SD and HD (above 720p) but the page publishes no separate rates. VoltKit has one video rate for 480p, 720p and 1080p at 30 fps, with HD audio included.
What is a participant-minute?
One participant connected for one minute = one participant-minute. Ten people in a room for six minutes use 60 participant-minutes, viewers included. VoltKit records usage in seconds and bills per participant-second, so nothing is rounded up to the next minute.
Are these prices current?
Each vendor figure is the list price published on 2026-10-24 at the URL beside it; the figures are re-checked monthly and the check date is printed on the page. VoltKit's rates are read live from its price list, so they are today's.
