Create an ICO for a favicon or app icon
An ICO file can bundle several image resolutions. Browsers and operating systems can choose the size that best fits a tab, shortcut, application or Windows icon. This converter includes PNG-encoded images in the ICO container and supports sizes up to 256 × 256 pixels.
For crisp results, start with a square logo or a high-resolution source image. Non-square images are scaled proportionally and centered on a transparent square instead of being stretched.
- 16 × 16 and 32 × 32 for small browser and interface icons
- 48 × 48 and 64 × 64 for shortcuts and desktop use
- 128 × 128 and 256 × 256 for high-density displays
Supported image formats and privacy
Upload PNG, JPG or JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP and SVG images that the browser can decode. Animated GIFs use the first frame; animated SVGA files are not still-image inputs. SVG files are rasterized at each selected icon size.
Image decoding, resizing and ICO creation happen on your device. Your selected files are not sent to a server, and transparent areas remain transparent in the generated icon.
