VIP and SVIP
VIP and SVIP frames, badges and entry effects for live apps
Many live-streaming and voice chat apps run membership tiers, usually called VIP and SVIP (super VIP), and each tier unlocks things the rest of the room can see: a frame around the member's picture, a badge beside their name, an entry effect when they arrive, a decorated seat, a chat bubble of their own. VoltKit sells the artwork for those items. Your app runs the tiers: who qualifies, what each tier unlocks, how long it lasts and what it costs.

What members usually see
The visible part of a VIP tier is a set of items that follow the member around the app. Each is a separate file your app draws in its place.
- A profile frame around the member's picture.
- A badge beside their name in chat and in viewer lists.
- An entry effect when they join a live room or a voice room.
- A seat frame in voice rooms and a chat bubble of their own.
How apps shape their tiers
Tiers are earned, bought or both: a level ladder that grows with activity, and a paid membership beside it. SVIP usually sits above VIP, with bigger and rarer items. Some apps add privileges that are not artwork at all, such as moderation protections or priority in a queue; those are rules in your app.
- One look per tier, so a SVIP member is recognisable at a glance.
- A clear step up from tier to tier: a badge, then a frame, then an entry effect.
- An end date for paid tiers, kept on your server.
VoltKit sells the artwork; your app runs VIP
The gift store sells licences to image and animation files. It has no membership system, coins or payouts for your users, and the RTC SDKs have no VIP feature. Your server keeps each member's tier and what it unlocks; your app draws the items and plays the effects.
- Confirm a member's tier with your server before showing paid-only items.
- VoltKit RTC's participant metadata is display data that a member's own app can change: treat it as a hint, not as proof.
- Play entry effects once per visit; a reconnect reaches the room as a leave and a new join.
Plan the set before you buy
A VIP set works best when its pieces look related: the same colours and materials across the frame, the badge and the entry effect, stepping up with each tier.
- List your tiers and the items each one unlocks.
- Choose formats your app can play: SVGA for animated items, PNG or WebP for stills.
- Keep a still version of every animated item for lists and reduced motion.
- Check each file in the SVGA Player before it reaches your users.
The licence in short
- Use it as you like in your own apps and business: as free gifts, paid gifts or anything else, for any number of users.
- No reselling or sharing the file itself, alone or in a pack.
- Non-exclusive: others may buy the same gift.

What is the difference between VIP and SVIP?
Names vary by app, but SVIP usually means super VIP: a tier above VIP with bigger, rarer items. Some apps let people earn tiers through levels or spending, others sell them as a membership, and many do both. In your app, you define them.
Does VoltKit provide a VIP or membership system?
No. VoltKit's gift store sells artwork under a licence. Your server stores each member's tier and what it unlocks, and your app shows the items. VoltKit RTC carries the room's video, voice and chat.
Which items do VIP members usually get?
Visible ones: a profile frame, a badge, an entry effect, a seat frame in voice rooms and a chat bubble, and sometimes a room background. Each is a separate file your app shows in its place.
Can I sell VIP items to my users?
Yes. The licence lets you use a gift you buy or claim in your own apps and business, including as part of a paid membership, for any number of users. You may not resell or share the files themselves.
Where should a member's tier be stored?
On your server. Clients ask your server which items a member may show; a value the member's own app sets, such as VoltKit RTC participant metadata, can be changed by that app, so it is not proof of a tier.
Can VoltKit design a full VIP set for our tiers?
You can ask: send a custom enquiry with your tiers, the items each one unlocks, the formats, players and sizes. It opens a conversation; scope, delivery and terms are agreed before any work starts.
